How To Recycle Vaping Accessories

Did you know that cigarette butts are one of the highest polluters in the world? They can stop plants from growing and pollute rivers, lakes and oceans, causing harm to fish. So it’s important for us as vapers or ex smokers to help make a difference in every way we can. We’ve put together this short blog to give you some tips and tricks to make sure you are disposing of your e cigarette accessories responsibly.

Batteries

The battery in your device isn't as innocent as it may look - it's full of hazardous chemicals that would harm the environment given half a chance.
Make sure you remove the battery from the device and dispose of it properly - there are specific battery recycling bins at most supermarkets, vape shops and recycling centres.

E-Liquid Bottles

All parts of our e-liquid bottles are recyclable (the lid, the bottle and the label).
Make sure you rinse the bottle out properly before putting it in the plastic recycling bin - not the general waste bin. Some liquids can be harmful to the environment, so if you decide not to finish a liquid consider offering it to a friend before throwing it away. If you don't get any takers, we recommend taking it to a hazardous waste facility.

E-Cigarettes

This process is a bit tricky but it is possible to recycle all or most of the components of your e-cigarette. The best way to do this is to dismantle the device, removing the glass, plastic and metal to put in their respective recycling bins. Make sure you rinse out parts of your tank or refill so that there is no e-liquid residue before disposing of them.

Disposable E-Cigarettes

A quick word about disposable e-cigarettes. The average disposable e-cig gives just 300 puffs before running out and they are designed for single use. Because they are being supplied to the public in such huge quantities, these disposable e-cigarettes are often dropped in the streets and make their way to landfill. They then leak hazardous materials such as battery acid and nicotine into the environment. Now that these devices are becoming more popular, we feel that is important now more than ever to recycle vaping products. Disposable e-cigs can be disposed of responsibly in the same way that normal e-cigarettes. It’s not impossible, it just takes a little bit of time and careful attention.
